I am a public official of the State of Indiana. I do copywriting in my spare time outside of my official state duties. I am the Director of Contracts for the Division of Family Resources (DFR) of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA). I previously served as General Counsel for the FSSA. Prior to that, I worked for the State as a Deputy Attorney General.
Before entering public service, I practiced law in the private sector, mainly working in medical malpractice defense representing doctors, hospitals, and nurses accused of medical negligence.
I am the author of a published novel, “In the Belly of the Bell-Shaped Curve,” which is a humorous satire of our modern society. You can find out more about my novel at michaellcarter.com.
I am also a member of the American Writers and Artist Institute (AWAI.) I was recently recognized as a member of Marquis Who’s Who in America for individuals who demonstrate achievement in their respective fields and have made contributions to society as a whole.
